Monthly Manner Testing
Color belt testing is held once every 5 weeks. If you are unable to attend testing on that particular day - we do not want you to wait 5 weeks to test again. You can test on the following Tuesday after testing at your class time. You must turn in your testing application and fee’s before the scheduled testing day with a note requesting to test the following Tuesday.
If you are late for testing - (after we begin testing students) you will not be able to test that evening but can test that following Tuesday. We are so sorry and realize that there are some things beyond our control - but we cannot break the rules. We teach discipline and we must adhere to our own rules. So please, do not be late for testing. Know that we want each student to succeed. Remember also, that t-shirts are not acceptable during testing. You must be in full uniform or you cannot test that day.
When students tip test prior to testing, this is our way to assure success. Each student knows their particular knowledge, forms and has the correct amount of attendance and manner to test. We realize that some students freeze or just lose focus during testing. The head table will give each student every opportunity to repeat a form or help during knowledge questions. However, should the student not be able to recover or is obvious to us that the student has completely forgot their form, we cannot pass the student. Tests are tests and they measure what the student has truly learned.
In the past, we have re-tested the student on the form they failed at their following attendance day. However, we have found that this does not go with our principles of discipline, focus and concentration and frankly, does not help the student nor prepare the student to give 100% at their testing day.
Any student that does not pass their belt test - will not be given another opportunity after testing day at their next class. The opportunity will be given during testing day and should the student not pass - they will have to wait 5 weeks to retest at the next scheduled testing day. The paid testing fee can be applied to their next test in 5 weeks. Should the student fail the second time - a new testing fee will apply.
Remember, to come to practice - ask the instructors for help. Instructors are available for one on one time 10 min before and 10 min after each class. That is 20 min extra one on one time should you need it! Private lessons are also available with any black belt instructor including Grand Master.
We are a martial arts school. We teach discipline, focus, concentration, confidence and truly want the best for each and every student. We take great pride in your accomplishments and growth. Remember - do not compare yourself to anyone else. This is YOUR journey and yours alone. Each of us have our own hills to climb and the way we do it - is to put one foot in front of the other and persevere. The rewards far outweigh the work - we believe in you and know you can do it!
Trust in our ways of discipline. We will get you there and together we will achieve more than we ever thought possible.
